American Council of Trustees and Alumni
The American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) is an independent, nonprofit organization committed to academic freedom, excellence, and accountability at America’s colleges and universities. In February 2019, the CAIF was added as the 68th member of ACTA’s Oases of Excellence network.
Institute for Humane Studies
The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) supports and partners with professors to promote the teaching and research of classical liberal ideas and to advance higher education’s core purpose of intellectual discovery and human progress. The IHS awarded the CAIF a generous grant in 2018 to fund campus events promoting free speech and open inquiry.
Heterodox Academy is a non-partisan collaborative of more than 2,500 professors, administrators, and graduate students committed to enhancing the quality and impact of research — and improving education — by promoting open inquiry, viewpoint diversity, and constructive disagreement in institutions of higher learning. A member of Heterodox Academy, CAIF Director Gabriel Noah Brahm has participated in conferences and collaborated with other members of the Heterodox network on initiatives to advocate for viewpoint diversity and open inquiry.
